Your Right to Form a Union

Your Right to Form a Union

If a majority of workers wants to form a union, they can select a union in one of two ways: If at least 30% of workers sign cards or a petition saying they want a union, the NLRB will conduct an election. If a majority of those who vote choose the union, the NLRB will certify the union as your representative for collective bargaining. An election is not the only way a union can become your representative. Your employer may voluntarily recognize a union based on evidence - typically signed union-authorization cards - that a majority of employees want it to represent them. Once a union has been certified or recognized, the employer is required to bargain over your terms and conditions of employment with your union representative. Special rules apply in the construction industry

If we can get to the point of a vote, we know fedex will bring in people from the east to vote no.

I Don't Know Where you Got Your Missed information From The Only Employees Who Can Vote Are The Employees Who Work At The Voting terminals.

All fxg drivers should all join together. That's the only way things will change. You want overtime pay health life dental ins. Vacation time. Most important get what we deserve for our family. Let's to this.

I have been at fxg for 5years as a so called driver more like a employee. Don't back down
Let's to this. Don't worry about the owners of the routes or is it our bosses. We outnumber them 5 to 1. Legally fxg has to honor what we want.

Call your locals know your worker rights. And most important let's do this for our families. 20 years from now a pension would sound nice not a kick out the door.

Help,help,SOS....MRL...so the goofy dispatcher is at it again.don't know if he is doing it on his own or from orders from the higher-ups.Can somebody tell me of this is legal;he TOLD us that when we logg out for lunch,we have to do it as soon as we are done with our last stop, wether (a pick up or delivery)then drive to where we want to eat.is that even legal,to clock out to lunch then drive(the tractor trailer)to go eat.And he said that if we don't like it,to BRING OUR LUNCH FROM HOME.so now they want to tell us what to do in our personal lives.its getting ridiculous, and he needs to be stopped.

that practice is definitely illegal. that's why when you punch in to lunch you get no communication on the one until after you punch back in from lunch.

if you are on lunch and dispatch ask you to do something while you're on lunch, then the company owes you an hours pay.

there has been class action suit against this practice by FedEx management. If this bozo really wants you guys to do this, tell him to write it down on paper sign it and give you a copy. if not, get five to ten fellow employees together then we can get ahold of the Department of Labor and take care of it that way.

lets do this brothers from so cal fedex freight! im tired of this crap! we need a union NOW! things will only get worse!!! you may have high seniority and get your hours and some overtime BUT your job is not secured! they will always find a way to screw you over! nothing is guaranteed if you are not union!
everyone will benefit from this! from drivers to part time dock workers!

im a driver at WHT and im not scared to talk about the union and the great benefits a union can bring us! no one can intimidate me or harass me! i want whats best for me and my fellow workers!
if you dont like it just turn around and keep your mouth shut! dont be a b**** and go tell the red shirt! because at the end of the day, they will still turn their back on the rats!
we are all grown ups and can decided what we want!
and if your excuse to not unionize is because the company can go bankrupt just look at UPS! teamsters over 80 years and growing strong!!!

GO TEAMSTERS! GO UNION!

why city driver.

While we're talking about MRL,also on the Rails side there is a lot of illegal activity going on.For one they don't honor seniority what so ever. They have a system of "first come, first serve".So you have drivers skipping their breaks(and that's fine, upto them)just to get back to the yard to get the next run.And also they take their lunch WAY past the 3.5-5 hour mark just to get back to the terminal to get a run. They also speed down the HWY to rush it back. There have already been numerous traffic accidents, injuries, and violations because these drivers are working very unsafe, due to rushing back to get the next run.Management have been told about this but they don't do anything about it.Until one of those accidents turns fatal that's where they will do something about it.Also there is favoritism going on,the dispatchers save runs for their favorites,or who ever brings them lunch.SO SAD.

We already get all those, what the hell are you talking about.

Something definitely has to be done. We need a union at FedEx Freight. Management, or Redbacks as I like to call them, are taking advantage of the fact that employees don't have the support of a union. To be specific, the Redbacks at Whittier. They constantly complain about things without offering solutions. They bully employees and even "talked" to someone for tying their freight which still fell apart when it reached its destination. Fairness does not exist at FedEx Freight Whittier. I also know of sexual harassment that has and is currently being done by a supervisor and a senior driver.

Just curious, you said you are not afraid to talk about the union as if you use to be part of one, have you ever been part of a union, And secondly if you have, why are you at fedex now. Really would appreciate an answer to these two questions, Thanks. Sbo driver
